"I like to think that the title of the exhibition refers to the contradictions I face when painting in the current moment, in the contemporary era dominated by an overload of both information and images. On the one hand, there are digitally generated images that utilize various technologies. These types of images inundate society through mass media. For example, in my personal collection alone, I have more than 160,000 photographic images. On the other hand, there are images created using traditional painting techniques that evoke primal feelings and connect me with the skills that make humans into beings. My approach proposes the confrontation between these two types of images to generate a new working hypothesis, and it is in this sense that one thing does not necessarily imply the other." -Jaume Orejuela
